Joint Base San Antonio Civilian Military Criminal Defense Attorneys

Protecting the legal rights of servicemen and women who have been accused of crimes

Joint Base San Antonio, or JSBA, is a military base in San Antonio, Texas made of up three separate installations – Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, and Randolph Air Force Base. These three facilities were combined in 2010 as a result of recommendations made by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission of 2005. According to the Department of Defense (DOD), Joint Base San Antonio has a total population of 292,907 among the three installations.

With so many service members living and working in close proximity to one another, it’s inevitable that some of them will be accused of criminal misconduct at some point. While criminal allegations are a serious matter for anybody, they are particularly serious when brought against a person who is a member of our armed forces. The military criminal justice system operates independently from the civilian justice system and does not afford the accused many of the rights enjoyed by civilians. In addition, military members who are convicted of crimes face not only legal consequences, but also the end of their careers and the loss of benefits that they have spent years or decades trying to secure. Fortunately, in many cases, the assistance of an experienced military criminal defense attorney can mitigate the punishments that a service member might be facing and might even be able to have a case acquitted, dismissed, or dropped.
